Ok so I get the question almost every day now… “Which book should I get (next)?”
My best answer is:
This all depends on which “stage” you’re in with your business – (and the challenge you’re currently facing).
You’re gonna hit more than a few walls, and sh*t I sure wish I would have paid more attention to my older wiser millionaire friends who would check in on me…
They tried to warn me but I just wasn’t getting it.
To get what I wanted, I needed more CLARITY on what I REALLY wanted:
I would have (better) known which steps to take, and would have gotten there 20 years faster.
So when I’m guiding others into their next goal, I start them with the appropriate books, (depending on what they need), immediately…
And depending on what stage or where they are in their journey, (or what new tools/ideas they may need), I guide them to (specific) resources accordingly.
But first, I have to tell you: (because I often here people say “I’m not a reader”):
If you DO NOT read what you need to read, then you probably won’t DO what you need to DO either. Because how can you walk the path if you don’t KNOW the path?
So take one small step at a time.
If you feel confused or overwhelmed with too many steps or too much to do, you may just go into “analysis paralysis”. Never hesitate to reach out to me personally.
Confusion Causes Paralysis, So Clarity is POWER
Below, I’m going over the first 15 books an entrepreneur must read, depending on which stage you’re at currently.
You only need to get through ONE at a time.
Here we go:
First step in mindset… qualify yourself. Be the type of person that :
- Does what you say you’re going to do.
- Takes disciplined and massive action.
- Is coachable.
So when I’m working with someone, if they’ve told me their goals, but they’ve always been an employee, then I’m not absolutely sure they’re NOT gonna waste my time, (especially if this is their first business venture).
So I’ll do a little (qualification) test as a “filter”. They call this “gapping”.
I’ll tell them:
“Ok, before we go into it, make sure to go out today and get the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki — and when you’re done with the book, call me back.“
And guess what happens most of the time?
They don’t call me back!
Why?
Because they didn’t do what they said they were going to do, and they didn’t do what I told them to do, by going and purchasing (and reading) the book!
(Which means they’re not hungry enough and they’re not qualified to get my valuable time!)
Now, the other 1/3rd of the time, they DO go get the book and read it. And guess what happens?
Breakthroughs
They have a huge breakthrough. A full on paradigm shift, and now they TRUST that what I tell them WORKS!
Now I’m positioned and my credibility goes up, because they had significant paradigm shifts. The books save me a lot of work and their belief is high, so now they’ll finally have the desire needed to change their life and do what it takes to get there.
So that’s…
NUMBER ONE – Rich Dad Poor Dad
- “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki
Because 95% of people are employed, (W-2), so it’s best if they get that (crucial) initial paradigm shift. On top of that, they have zero tax advantages. They’re getting slaughtered.
If you’ve already read it, or you’re already a business owner, you can skip to… - “The Cashflow Quadrant” by Robert Kiyosaki
This book will help them with 1000% belief in building business ASSETS, leverage and systems instead of small business, trading their time for linear income.
Once an entrepreneur’s paradigm is shifted, they realize the benefits of their time investment and the power of delayed gratification when it comes to an abundance mindset and financial strategies. - Lower Your Taxes, BIGTIME, by Sandy Botkin
